I'm digging this, a shout-out to Walt Whitman: Lana Del Rey - Body Electric

The music is beautiful, dark, slightly demented and very sensual. "Body Electric" is Lana del Rey's new album. I have to say, I really feel this girl. I think she is a real artist in that she creates an atmosphere with her work. My idea of perfection is when all (or at least three) of your senses are "assaulted" and they come together in this special, chemically balanced harmony to create a perfect moment.

With Lana del Rey, I think her persona, music and videos come together perfectly. To a point where you can almost smell the music and it picks at something inside, like you're walking down this dark alley you'd never noticed before but which, at the same, feels oddly familiar to you... Know what I mean? Do I sound like I'm tripping? Hey, that might be the effect of her songs.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this song because it brought me back to Walt Whitman, the big man, when honestly, I had pretty much walked away from poetry. An excerpt from "I Sing the Body Electric":

"The expression of the face balks account,
But the expression of a well-made man appears not only in his face,
It is in his limbs and joints also, it is curiously in the joints of his hips and wrists,
It is in his walk, the carriage of his neck, the flex of his waist and knees, dress does not hide him,
The strong sweet quality he has strikes through the cotton and broadcloth,
To see him pass conveys as much as the best poem, perhaps more,
You linger to see his back, and the back of his neck and shoulder-side."
